Parramatta City Council have installed fish ladders at 4 historic weirs at the upper reaches of the Parramatta River that will again enable free passage of native fish populations and help restore their natural breeding cycles. 3DP were engaged to design and curate a suite of signage installations/artworks at each of the weirs that explore the diversity, particular characteristics and breeding cycles of the 9 native fish species found in the Parramatta River, explain how the different types of fish ladders work, and interpret key aspects of natural and cultural history at each site.
