Fireclay Caverns Dinosaur Trackways
Mount Morgan Mine, Queensland
2003
3-D Projects designed interpretive signage, visitor walkways, viewing platforms and rock fall barrier systems within the Fireclay Caverns at the Mount Morgan Mine, Queensland, which contain Australia’s best concentration of Early Jurassic dinosaur tracks preserved in the caverns' ceilings.
3-D Projects created a distinctive oxidised steel gateway at the site entrance that funnels visitors into the caverns, displays key safety and interpretive information, acts as a rock fall barrier and keeps the site secure after hours. Within the caverns, steel bridges and suspended walkways allow visitors controlled equity access to the dinosaur tracks while restricting entry to hazardous rock fall areas.
