3-D Projects developed an architectural design concept for the Balranald Visitor Information Centre and surrounding public parklands on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River in outback NSW. The concept comprised two articulated timber-clad pavilions containing VIC exhibitions, cafe, office and toilet facilities suspended above a lush river grass garden feature bridged and bordered by hardwood boardwalks.
An aquarium containing live native Murrumbidgee River fish species occupies the entire southern façade of the VIC exhibition pavilion to create a dramatic liquid feature clearly visible to passing motorists on Market Street.
